SE Partners in Flight has a goal to increase participation of Caribbean and Latin American nations in regional PIF efforts. To accomplish this, southeastern states are developing partnerships to exchange information and resources needed to focus on the improvement of survey and monitoring, research, management and education involving birds and their habitats. The power lies in the synergy that builds when diverse, committed groups who care about birds work together for a common goal. Optics for the Tropics, Inc. is one mechanism to grease the rails for states to begin participation with a partner. As funds are raised, binoculars will be distributed to research and education projects identified throughout the Caribbean and Latin America.
